Air Moldova Carriage Regulations

According to the current rules of the Airline, the following free baggage allowance for 1 passenger is established:

adult passengers

1 place:

hand luggage weighing up to 8 kg , dimensions up to 115 cm (50x40x25) including wheels, handles, side pockets, etc.

 

1 place:

baggage with a maximum weight of up to 23 kg, dimensions - up to 203 cm (l + h + w).

The weight cannot be divided into several pieces of baggage (bags/suitcases).

Children
(up to 12 years old)

1 place:

hand luggage weighing up to 8 kg , dimensions up to 115 cm (50x40x25) including wheels, handles, side pockets, etc.

1 place:

baggage with a maximum weight of up to 23 kg, dimensions - up to 203 cm (l + h + w).

The weight cannot be divided into several pieces of baggage (bags/suitcases).

Infants
(up to 2 years old)

- infant food for consumption on board

- collapsible baby stroller

1 place:

baggage with a maximum weight of up to 10 kg, dimensions up to 115 cm (50x40x25) + stroller weighing up to 10 kg

For the convenience and safety of passengers, hand luggage that exceeds the specified limits must be checked in to the luggage compartment.

In addition to carry-on baggage up to 8 kg, one personal item is allowed:

  • one small handbag
  • briefcase for men 

Note: small musical instruments such as violin, trumpet, etc. can be accepted as carry-on baggage BUT it will be considered the passenger's carry-on baggage.

A piece of excess baggage by weight (more than 23 kg) and by size (more than 203 cm), is paid based on both indicators according to the airline's tariffs (from 40 euros (by size) and from 50 euros (by weight)) including an additional agency fee upon payment in the airoport.

Sports equipment is not included in the free baggage allowance indicated on the passenger's ticket. Additional payment will be charged for sports equipment depending on the type of equipment and its weight.

Exception: when paying for excess baggage, the limit of three dimensions (l+w+h) of 158 cm will be ignored only for bicycles, fishing rods and ski/snowboard/golf equipment.

The carriage of any sports equipment must be agreed with the airline in advance - the passenger must declare the availability of sports equipment at the time of booking tickets and / or at least 72 hours before departure , indicating the type of equipment, its weight and size. 

Packing and transportation conditions:

  • Skiing and snowboarding equipment (skis or snowboarding, poles and boots) must be properly packed, preferably in a hard-pack or protective case, to prevent any damage to the equipment itself or to other luggage on board. The tips of the ski poles must be wrapped securely so as not to damage the bag itself or other luggage on board.
  • Golf Equipment: Golf clubs, balls and shoes must be well packed and secured inside the bag to avoid damage during loading, transport and unloading.
  • Bicycles may be accepted for carriage in the luggage compartment, provided that they are packed in a protective bag or box (preferably made of solid material) intended for the carriage of bicycles. Handlebars must be fixed to the side or removed, tires must be flat, pedals removed. Electric bicycles will not be accepted for carriage even if the battery is disconnected or removed. The dimensions of the package for bicycles must not exceed: 155x35x95cm (L+W+H).
  • Fishing Equipment: The rod and other accessories must be properly packed in a protective bag or case to prevent any damage to the equipment itself or other luggage on board.
  • Surfboards must be properly packed in a bag or case to prevent damage to the surfboards themselves or other luggage on board. 

Due to limited space, large sports equipment (eg long surfboards, canoes, etc.) exceeding the dimensions of 240 cm x 60 cm x 40 cm (length, width, height) cannot be accepted on Air flights Moldova.

The maximum weight of 1 piece of baggage cannot exceed 32 kg.

The UMNR procedure is a special service provided by the airline for unaccompanied children over 5 years of age, which includes supervision and escort by company employees.

Registration of the UMNR service is mandatory for children traveling unaccompanied by their parents aged 5 to 12 years (for children of citizens of the Republic of Moldova from 5 to 18 years).
Children from 12 to 18 years old traveling alone, flying to the Republic of Moldova - at the request of their parents or in case of doubt about the child's ability to fly independently. 

This service is paid - 40 EUR for each Air Moldova flight.

The service can be provided only upon prior request confirmed by the airline, which is submitted before the purchase of the ticket and no later than 48 hours before departure.

Upon departure, the parent or person accompanying the child to the airport must sign the Unaccompanied Minor Form (Handling advice) at check-in and remain at the airport until the flight departs. Upon arrival, the child will only be handed over to the persons named on the Unaccompanied Minor Form (Handling Advice) completed at the airport of departure after their identification has been verified.

 

 

Infants - children under 2 years old (2 years old) - can travel sitting on your lap. If you are traveling with two children under 2 years of age, a separate seat must be purchased for the second child. In this case, be sure to use a car seat to transport the child in a separate seat.

For infants, a regular passenger ticket is issued without the right to a separate seat in the cabin.

* Note! The child car seat must be approved for use on air transport. The suitability of a child seat for air travel must be confirmed by the presence of an appropriate label on it.

 

 

Air Moldova airline allows pregnant women to fly until the end of the 35th week in case of a singleton pregnancy without complications, subject to the requirements below, and until the end of the 32nd week in case of a multiple pregnancy without complications, subject to the requirements below.

Pregnant women may be accepted on board with the following documents:

  • After the 28th week of pregnancy (up to the 32nd week inclusive) - a medical certificate with a seal and a doctor's signature, which clearly reflects the permission to fly. This certificate, issued no earlier than 72 hours before departure, must be presented at check-in for the flight.
  • After the 32nd and until the end of the 35th week of pregnancy, as well as in cases of complicated pregnancy - a medical certificate with a stamp and a doctor's signature, which clearly reflects the permission to fly.

For the flight, the passenger must provide a confirmation certificate/medical certificate, completed and certified by the seal of the attending physician, confirming the absence of contraindications to the flight.

 

 

The Air Moldova airline accepts only dogs and cats for transportation after the prior consent of the airline. Pets are transported only in the aircraft cabin in special cages/containers.

The Airline does not accept large animals for transportation in the cargo hold of the aircraft.
The weight of the accompanying animals, including the weight of the cage and food, is not included in the free baggage allowance.

The mass of the cage should not exceed 8 kg, and the sum of the linear dimensions should not exceed 115 cm (25x40x50).

The cost of transporting animals in the aircraft cabin (PET in cabin) is 40 EUR per flight segment. 

In case of transportation of an animal, the passenger must:

  1. Submit the following documents and fulfill the following conditions:
  • Veterinary passport
  • Animal health certificate
  • Vaccination Certificate
  • Export / Import / Transit Permit
  • The animal must have an electronic identification (microchip) or a tattoo. 
  1. Consider the following conditions:
    The pet must be clean, healthy, not aggressive, not pregnant, in a comfortable container where it can stand, turn and lie down freely (with the exception of service animals).

Container:

  • the container must not be placed on the seat,
  • maximum weight (including the weight of the animal) no more than 8 kg,
  • maximum size no more than 115 cm (25x40x50)
  • must be provided with ventilation holes, absorbent bottom, firmly fastened. Cardboard boxes are inconvenient for air transport.

The full list of necessary documents for the transportation of an animal must be clarified independently at the veterinary service of the country of destination.

* All responsibility for transported animals is borne by the passenger. When checking in, the passenger must fill out a declaration on the release of the airline from liability for the transport of animals.

The airline is not responsible for bodily injury, loss, illness or death of transported animals, as well as for refusal to import them into the territory of the country of destination or transportation through the territory of the transit point.

A guide animal is a utility dog ​​that accompanies a disabled passenger, in particular a visually impaired passenger.
Passengers traveling with such an animal must report its carriage before paying for the ticket.

Service animals are transported free of charge, but must meet the following requirements:

  • weight and size may be limited depending on the type of aircraft,
  • the passenger must provide a certificate that confirms the status of a "guide animal",
  • it is forbidden to move around the cabin,
  • the animal must not occupy a chair and must not be transported in a container,
  • must have a muzzle and a leash.

To clarify the possibility of issuing the service of transporting an animal in the aircraft cabin, no later than 48 hours before departure, send a request to our e-mail indicating the offer that interests you.

 

Online check-in for charter flights is not available, passengers will be able to check-in for the flight at the airport.

Check-in for a flight at the airport starts 3 hours before departure and ends 1 hour before departure .
We recommend arriving well in advance to successfully complete all the formalities. Passenger delay is not a reason for flight delay.

Passenger boarding ends 15 minutes before the flight departure. To avoid missing your flight, please be at the boarding gate well in advance.

** The indicated cost is valid at the time of publication for one passenger on a one-way itinerary.
