The passenger is obliged to pay for the carriage of baggage in excess of the free baggage allowance, at the established rate in force on the day of payment.

After booking your application for tickets, we will individually request the cost of additional baggage. When booking the Extra Baggage service in advance, no later than 48 hours before departure, a discount is applied.

Extra baggage checked in less than 36 hours before flight departure will be charged according to the standard rate at the airport.

The weight of a piece of baggage must not exceed 32 kg. Baggage over 32 kg is checked in and transported as cargo.

Each individual set of sports equipment counts as one piece of baggage. The weight of each piece/set of sports equipment must not exceed  23 kg  in any service class.

In order for the airline to be able to carefully prepare, the transportation of some types of sports equipment and special equipment requires prior approval and booking.

The airline recommends that you securely pack your sports equipment or special equipment, especially those items that are carried in the cargo hold of the aircraft as checked baggage. If you have a special cover or case, you should use it as a package.

Prior approval and additional payment* are not required for transportation of:

If the free baggage allowance exceeds the number or weight, you can use the "Additional Baggage" service to pay for excess baggage. The cost must be additionally specified on an individual basis.

Please note that the weight of one piece of baggage must not exceed 32 kg.

Unaccompanied minors are accepted for carriage after their parents or legal guardians have completed and signed the Unaccompanied Minor Transportation Agreement at the check-in desk. A citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the age of 18, when leaving the country unaccompanied, must have a passport and a notarized Consent of parents or legal guardians to independently cross the border, indicating the states he intends to visit. The document must be valid at the time the child returns home.

Air Astana does not charge additional fees for the service of transportation of unaccompanied minors.

This service is provided on the entire route - at the airports of departure and arrival. When applying for an escort service, it is necessary to indicate the data of the child's passport (travel document) and the child's citizenship is required.

The escort service can be arranged for children under 16 years of age.

Children under 6 years of age are only allowed to travel with an adult.

It is necessary to ensure that tickets for minors flying unaccompanied by adults are booked at least 36 hours before the scheduled departure of the aircraft.

An unaccompanied child must arrive at the airport for check-in no later than 1.5 hours before departure, as the check-in procedure requires more time to check and complete the accompanying documents.

!!! When registering the transportation service for an unaccompanied child (under the age of 18), parents or legal guardians are required to additionally clarify all the requirements of the immigration service and the rules for issuing documents for leaving / entering the country of destination.

More detailed information about the transportation of unaccompanied children on the official website of the carrier.

Infants - children under 2 years old (2 years old) - can travel sitting on your lap. For newborns, a regular passenger ticket is issued without a separate seat in the cabin.

To transport a car seat to a child, an air ticket is issued with a separate seat and payment is made at the same rate as for an adult.

The width of the seat must not exceed 41 cm. The seat must be equipped with a fixture for fixing it to the passenger seat. Also, the chair must be certified, which is confirmed by the presence of a special sign or label. The airline does not provide its own car seats to passengers.

When boarding the aircraft, the passenger independently carries the car seat to the seat in the cabin. Flight attendants will help you properly secure the car seat with straps. Placement in the aircraft cabin of a child in a car seat is allowed only in the seats near the windows.

Passengers wishing to bring a car seat will not be able to check in online or through kiosks.

For transportation, you must send a preliminary request, no later than 24 hours before departure.

Passengers traveling with infants (under 1 year of age) can use baby cots to make their journey more comfortable and relaxing. This service is available at an additional cost on the following aircraft types: Airbus 321 NEO LR (economy class and business class), Boeing B767 (economy class and business class), Embraer E190 (economy class and Business Class), Embraer E2 (Business Class only), and Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 NEO (Business Class only). In order to reserve a baby cot, you must write a request in advance, as you need to know that the configuration of some aircraft does not allow the use of baby cots. We recommend that you check the availability of cots on your flight in advance before planning your trip.

On all flights, you can carry one complex baby stroller (such as a cane) free of charge per passenger carrying a child under 2 years old, if it fits in size (maximum folded size 34x32x14cm).

If the parameters exceed, near the gangway the stroller can be taken into the luggage compartment. Upon arrival at your destination airport, you will be given a wheelchair after you get off the plane.

Note:

All prams, except for the fully complex "cane" type, are considered large, are transported as checked baggage and are subject to payment in case of exceeding the established norm in the amount of the passenger's other baggage.

The free baggage allowance and the cost of excess baggage can be found in the sections "Free Baggage Allowance" and "Extra Baggage".
